The door of the cell where Ted Bundy was held at the Leon County Jail, where he was incarcerated after his arrest on February 15, 1978.

Because Bundy was a noted escape artist, Leon County sheriff, Ken Katsaris, put three locks on Ted Bundy’s cell door and made sure the keys were always in the hands of three different people.

“I got written up by the fire marshal’s office because they said if the jail were to catch on fire, he couldn’t get out,” Katsaris said. “I said, too bad.”
